[Make your own V neck tee]
Also, over the weekend I altered a tshirt. It was a very simple alteration, and there’s a lot of tutorials on the web, but apparently I am incapable of doing anything crafty without documenting it. Four pictures, after the jump.
1) I took a bit of cardboard from the recycling, and another shirt where I liked the neckline. I traced it onto the cardboard and cut it out …

2) Traced the neckline onto the tshirt with a tailor pencil

3) Cut the neckline on the tshirt & hemmed it

4) Voila!

I am stoked it went well (though, I have to admit, further alteration attempts on the sleeve could well qualify for the Craft Fail blog) and now I am spending a lot of time eyeing my other tshirts. Of which there are lots, not gonna lie.

cool! i’ve been thinking about doing some sleeve alterations on some of my threadless shirts but have no clue of course how to do so. i guess the internets can probably help me there, too.

Was hemming the neckline difficult? I have several tees with necklines so high they’re practically mock turtlenecks, I might have to try this.

I got some ideas from Generation T: 108 Ways to Transform a T-Shirt & 99 Ways to Cut, Sew, Trim, and Tie Your T-Shirt into Something Special (neither worth buying — I got them out at the library & took down notes)

You’re so clever! It’s the hemming part I would be afraid of - sewing and I do not get along.
