[Back on the road to good enough]

The most interesting thing I’ve done lately is see music. The weekend before last I was up in Vancouver for the folk festival. I got in free because I have a friend who works on the main stage as a sign language interpreter. It is basically awesome.

(Follow me after the jump for Vancouver Folk, the Glitter meet-up, ZooTunes, and more. Image-heavy; click through to embiggen)

The weekend was beautiful, and I spent as much time in the shade as possible. Stage 2 was the best for avoiding sunstroke.

It also had awesome music, but that was true of every stage. Below, T Nile, 4/5 of Outlaw Social, and Faith Nolan (with two guests, whose names I missed).

The festival’s on Jericho Beach, which is gorgeous. Below, the view back over the crowd at night, and out towards the city in the afternoon.

Back in Seattle, I went to a Glitter meetup Monday after work. It is possible that I am now a Glitter. How can I help it, with these cool crafty kids who also correct grammar? WIN.

Tuesday was The Dark Knight in IMAX, and Wednesday was ZooTunes! Andrew Bird & Josh Ritter, both of whom were fantastic, which should surprise no one. All these shots are on 16x zoom, but I was still way closer than I was at the mainstage in Vancouver.

Andrew is a genius, of course, and Josh just plays with such JOY.

Finally, this week my parents were in town, so Sunday we went up to Ballard for breafast at the Salmon Bay Cafe, and then puttering around the Farmer’s Market. It was a good weekend for it, because it was also the annual sidewalk sale and seafood festival.

There was lots of music there too. (Wow. I totally forgot to edit these shots before I put them up.)

Ballard is proud of its Nordic heritage.

And, that’s it for now! I’ve been getting ready for company and totally failing to take pictures of my knitting. Maybe I can make them help with that.
