[Rockin’ It East Coast Style, part 1]
So! Earlier this month I visited friends on the east coast. I flew into NYC & took the train to Springfield, MA. The train, by the way, was basically the best idea ever. So much more comfortable than the bus. And prettier! And with legroom! And food! Basically, it was awesome.
In Massachusetts we did lots of outdoorsy things. After the jump, more pictures than you could possibly ever want to see. As always, click through to Flickr to embiggen.
First, up to Poet’s seat…
…with a beautiful view.

One of the creepy benches along the road, where you can sit and look at basically nothing.

Then we went out to Turner’s Falls, where there’s a bridge you probably aren’t supposed to go out on, but we did anyway.

The water rushing under it gave the incredibly strong impression of being on a boat. It was kind of hypnotic.
I was also taken by the graffiti here…

…and up at our next stop, the Eunice Williams covered bridge.
That last shot in context…

…and the reason the bridge is named for dear Eunice…

On our way out to the bridge we met a dog carrying a fish in his mouth. I now judge all dogs by whether or not they have a fish.
We also went up to the Summit House…

…which was at a truly startling elevation.

Where I come from, that is a hill. I’m just saying.
We also did a lot of things I did not take pictures of, including:
- went to Webs (where I might have bought enough yarn for the biggest discount)
- wandered around Northampton
- laughed a lot
- watched anime (YOU GUYS, KINO’S JOURNEY I AM JUST SAYING.)
- ate excellent food
- created the World’s Most Amazing Potholder
- invented a sign for the band Bump of Chicken
You know you’re jealous.
Next up, NYC!

Lovely shots! (Sad to note no picture of dog-with-fish, though.)
