[Rockin’ It East Coast Style, part 2]

The first day in NYC I apparently didn’t take any pictures at all, even though we did lots of stuff. I got to see my friend’s office & one of her volunteer sites, and we went to improv at the UCB theater, and we walked enough that my shoe exploded and I developed a blister on the bottom of my foot. Hot!

I didn’t take any pictures the second day either, when we procured a new pair of shoes and amazing gelato, and went to knitting in Astoria.

The third day… wow. This is getting to be a theme. The third day I didn’t take any pictures until the evening. I was kidnapped by a friend in time for breakfast at a tea shop (which had clearly stolen my ipod, as they were playing Spring Awakening, Rufus Wainright, and Elliott Smith), then off to sight see, particularly to the Morgan Library & Museum, which was very cool! We got lunch at Risotteria (gluten free pizza for the win, as well as v tasty risotto, and my first black-and-white cookie). Nom!

I apparently didn’t take pictures until the We’re About 9 show, so let’s continue with that after the jump.

we're about 9

I was stoked for the show, as I’ve never had the opportunity to see them before, living on the west coast and all. It was pretty fantastic, and I might have come away from there with a handful of CDs. It is possible that Brian just gave me the new one. And also two hugs. And it is possible that I pretty much haven’t listened to much of anything else since then. Do de do.

Saturday was a beautiful day, which was good because we had planned to go out to Coney Island. We were going specifically for the sideshow, which was amazing.

We did Coney properly, with junk food and rides, including the Cyclone, from which my neck has only just recovered…

…and the Wonder Wheel, from which Kat has only just recovered.

At the base of the Wonder Wheel I had my fortune told.

Then, the world’s best sushi. And an opportunity to teleport after we got rice pudding.

teleporting... and new shoes

I only wish it had been that easy to get back!

There’s one more entry coming, basically on 5 Pointz. The whole MA & NYC set, sans that street art, lives here. And currently I am being eaten by the film festival. I will start posting about that tomorrow over on Letterboxed, which is also RSSable for them wot care.

I love your Coney shots. I wish there were some of Astoria, though. (ONE OF) MY HOOD(S)!

I’ll have to get some details from you and Kat, if we’re going to NYC in July we will want to duplicate some of your feats!
