[Winter’s delivering summer’s forgiving]
I haven’t posted about knitting since December! Can you believe it? Ridiculous.
Part of that is because December and half of January were taken up with finishing a crocheted afghan. You don’t get to see that, though, because there is no sunlight in Seattle in January, and so the few pictures I remembered to take were terrible. Seriously.
I do have pictures of a lot of other stuff, though, and they live after the jump.
In February I participated in Mason-Dixon Knitting’s Teeny Project Runway, which was freakin’ hilarious. The challenge was to knit an outfit for a stuffed animal, essentially. I don’t have a lot of creatures to choose from, and the best candidate was obvious: Esteban the Sloth.
You should go look at all of the entries. Sheer brilliance!
Other knitting I’ve done recently includes Dashing in Mmmmmalabrigo (two cable twists instead of three, because I did not want them so long)…
…also in Malabrigo, the Scholar Collar (I really need to take an ‘action shot’. I love this to bits — so warm and soft!)((the shot of Dashing is really the best of the color. Yay natural light!)
…Broadripple socks, toe-up, in Opal (I rewound the yarn after the first sock so that the stripes would go opposite directions. I’m quite taken that the heels wound up being yellow on both. Also, I seriously need proper sock blockers.)
…Rose’s armwarmers from the “Doomsday” episode of “Doctor Who” (I can’t remember if I posted about these before, but I have much better photos now, thanks to Kat who took them in the Botanic Gardens in Oxford in January)
…and Cabled Mitts that I still need to send to Julie (shame)…
In February I went down to Madrona Fiber Arts just for the vendor room, and then spent three hours hanging out in the lobby with spinners before meeting up with my Monday knitting group for dinner. I seem to have failed to take pictures of my loot, though. Last Saturday I got up at the crack of dawn to get in line for Hilltop’s fire sale. Which was insane. I can’t even express how nuts it was. I spent an hour inside, most of that time in line to pay.
I scored four skeins of Malabrigo worsted, one of Manos, one of something Fiber Artist, Inspired Cable Knits, & Knitting Nature, all for $75. For the win, man.
…now I just need to find the time to knit it all! I’m currently working on the second Kaylee sock, the second Nutkin sock, the first Fred & George sock, and the Salt Peanuts cardigan. I think that is it!
No, I really don’t have a life, thanks for asking!

Malabrigo! The Dashings and collar both look *toothsome*. I also really like way the Cabled Mitts’ cables break up the color changes.
Hell, it all looks fantastic. I can’t wait to see the cardigan.
