[Snowpocalypse Knitting]

With all that time off & no bus service, what’s a girl to do but knit? On our first quite chilly day I decided that seriously, I needed mittens that actually covered my fingers. Crazy business. I had two skeins of Shibui Sock in my stash & a copy of Not Just More Socks, which resulted in these Snowpocalypse Mitts:

More, including another sweater, after the jump.

A while back I picked up two skeins of Clown at Weaving Works because it reminded me of candy canes. I had the Marigold sock pattern in my queue after discovering it in a thread on patterns that worked with self-striping sock yarn. Put ‘em together, and the result was Peppermint Ripple Socks. Not that I was able to wear them for Christmas, as the only socks I’ve needed this week are boot socks. Woe.

I also took the opportunity to do some WIP wrestling. I had famously hit a bit of a wall on Coraline because of the tedium of smocking, but I finally finished her off on Christmas. She still needs buttons, as does my February Lady Sweater, but still, look how pretty she is! Even unblocked, oops.

Plus, I don’t think I ever took FO pictures of these (Mad Cow socks in Shibui, and basic toe-ups in Socks That Rock from my own sock recipe)

With all those FOs behind me, I am suffering from severe startitis this weekend. I have two new socks on the needles, plus I am swatching for Serrano.

We won’t talk about all my other WIPs. Do de do.
