Now, some randomness.
A pendant I bought from Wyrding Studios, art by Erin McCauley, with a bonus set of earrings:
I know absolutely nothing about tarot, so if anyone can suggest a reason why I was so compelled to buy the Chariot, please do.
After the jump, a whole whack of Seattle stuff.
I love this photo:
It’s from the sign for August Wilson Way down at the Seattle Center. As always, click through to embiggen.
I spend a decent amount of time at Seattle Center because SIFF Cinema is down there. SIFF Cinema is made of win and love and revival film and coffee.
Speaking of coffee, I kept failing to take a picture of this at Monorail. It’s been up for ages, of course, so this is unforgivably late:
And here’s another shot, from just around the corner. I can never buy anything at Anthropologie, but I love their windows:
Speaking of window displays, Fox Jewelers has a bear theme for the holidays, and this is their attempt to be inclusive:
The windows downtown are pretty, but in terms of city-wide decoration, they have a lame “Light Spectacular” thing instead of nutcrackers. I know I spent a lot of time complaining about the nutcrackers, with good reason, but I do miss them. There are still a few about in Pacific Place, though, like this nutcracker of doubtful cultural sensitivity:
Seattle has a few downtown holiday events. The day after Thanksgiving is the lighting of the tree at Westlake, which came with a nice variety of protesters:
This past Friday was the Figgy Pudding caroling competition, which I went to mostly to see if there would be barbershop there. Because I miss barbershop. There was:
There were also these carolers (from a Vietnamese church, I think) whose hats made me do a double take:
Bus stops were closed…
Because the streets looked like this…
They projected snowflakes and photos on the sides of the buildings around Westlake.

And my favorite part of Christmas in Seattle, after eggnog lattes: the star at the Bon Macy’s.
