In mid-November, friends came out & we drove down to Portland for WFTDA Nationals, which was basically awesome. We got to see scads of fantastic roller derby (even if my hometown ladies got creamed right out of the gate), and a bit of Portland as well (including Powell’s & yarn shops) all after the jump.
Saturday night we stopped by Voodoo Doughnut before stalking the Party Bus. I was strong and did NOT have a doughnut, though the bacon maple bar did look pretty amazing.
Gotham had to win because they had the best signs. Kat’s was applicable for absolutely everything, and mine is now hanging up in my office, just in case we need a dance party.
I just realized I only took pictures of half of my loot (Kinder Surprise from Julie, Dance Party Now sign, and books from Powell’s… plus apparently what I was reading that weekend)

I also, of course, bought yarn. Ah well. Y’all will have to wait until I knit it up before you can see it. So, perhaps in a year or so.
Back in Seattle — and, I suppose, in Portland somewhere while we were derby-ing — there was a Prop 8 protest. Signs still lingered when we walked to downtown Monday morning.
Also, in November I knitted:
(February Lady Sweater — still in need of buttons, though it’s had the ends woven in & been blocked by now — and Foliage hat. Both in Malabrigo.)
